Terms of use.
These terms explain the rules for using Japanese, its learning content and optional Premium access.
Agreement and provider
Japanese is provided by Rocket Digital Limited. By downloading, purchasing or using the app, you agree to these terms and the rules of the Apple App Store or Google Play used to obtain it. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Eligibility
You must be able to enter into a binding agreement where you live. A learner who cannot do so independently may use the app only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian. The platform account holder is responsible for purchases made through that account.
Personal licence
Rocket Digital grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use Japanese for personal, non-commercial language learning. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, scrape, redistribute or commercially exploit the app or course content, or bypass access controls, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Free access and Premium
The app may provide selected lessons and tools without payment. Premium unlocks the content and features described on the purchase screen. Exact products, prices, currencies, billing periods and any trial terms are supplied by your app store before you confirm a purchase.
Renewal, cancellation and refunds
A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled through the relevant Apple or Google account before the renewal date shown by the store. Removing the app does not cancel a subscription. Refund requests and statutory withdrawal rights are handled under the store rules and mandatory consumer law that applies to you. Restoring a purchase requires the same platform account and an available connection.
Learning content and JLPT references
Japanese provides educational content and practice, not professional, academic or immigration advice. JLPT level labels are editorial competence targets used to organise the course. Japanese is not endorsed by the Japan Foundation or Japan Educational Exchanges and Services, and no lesson total, readiness score or completed level guarantees a particular examination result.
Your progress and device
Learning progress is primarily stored locally. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device backups before replacing, resetting or removing the app. Rocket Digital cannot recover local data that was not backed up or otherwise made available to a recovery feature.
Accuracy and availability
We work to keep lessons, dictionary entries and answers accurate, but language content can contain mistakes or allow context-dependent alternatives. Features, content and supported devices may change as the product improves. Access may occasionally be interrupted for platform, security, maintenance or technical reasons.
Acceptable use
You must not interfere with the app or related services, attempt unauthorised access, submit malicious material, misuse support channels, infringe another person’s rights or use the product in a way that violates applicable law.
Intellectual property and third-party material
The app design, original course content, software and branding belong to Rocket Digital or its licensors. Dictionary and other licensed datasets remain subject to their respective licences and attribution notices shown in the app. Apple, Google, Firebase, RevenueCat and JLPT-related names belong to their respective owners.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary to address serious misuse, security risk, legal requirements or a discontinued service. You may stop using the app at any time, but must separately cancel any active subscription through the store account.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided without a promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular exam result. Rocket Digital is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Governing rules and changes
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to Rocket Digital Limited, while preserving any mandatory protections available in your country of residence. We may update the terms for legal, security or product reasons. Material changes will be communicated as required, and the date above will identify the current version.
